1. Prerequisites

Before installing Ooty, make sure you have the following:

• Claude Desktop - Download and install from claude.ai/download
• Ooty license key - Purchase from the pricing page, or start a free trial
• Internet connection - Required for initial license activation (works offline for up to 7 days afterward)

2. Download and Install

1. aGo to the download page and download the binary for your operating system.
2. bExtract the downloaded archive to a location on your system.
3. cOn macOS, you may need to allow the binary in System Settings > Privacy & Security if prompted.

3. Configure Claude Desktop

Add Ooty as an MCP server in your Claude Desktop configuration file:

Replace /path/to/ooty with the actual path to the extracted binary on your machine.

4. Activate Your License

On first launch, Ooty will prompt you to enter your license key. Enter the key you received via email after purchase. The tool will activate on your device and you can start using all SEO features immediately.

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to interact with external tools and data sources. Ooty uses MCP to bring SEO capabilities directly into your AI workflow. No switching between apps.

Do I need a Google account?

Only for features that access your personal Google data, such as Search Console and Indexing API. Features like keyword research, PageSpeed analysis, and Knowledge Graph lookups work without any Google account connection.

Can I use Ooty offline?

Ooty requires an internet connection for most features since it queries live data from Google APIs. However, after initial license activation, you can work offline for up to 7 days before needing to re-validate your license.

How many devices can I use?

Individual plans allow activation on one device at a time. You can switch devices, but there is a 30-day cooldown between rotations. Agency plans support multiple devices based on the number of seats purchased, with instant device rotation for administrators.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier with limited functionality. Your data and settings are preserved.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Your license configuration is encrypted at rest on your device. Google API data is processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers. We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy including Limited Use requirements. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do agency plans work?

Agency plans allow team collaboration with multiple seats and workspaces. Each workspace represents a client website. Team members are assigned to workspaces and can switch between clients without reactivating their license. Agency administrators can manage seats, revoke access, and view usage across the team.
