Frequently Asked Questions

No. Ooty is a remote MCP server — it runs on our infrastructure. You connect by pasting a URL and license key. Nothing to download.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools — like a USB port for AI. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf all support it.

Any that supports MCP: ChatGPT (Plus/Pro/Teams/Enterprise), Gemini Advanced, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Cline, Continue.

Only for tools accessing your personal data (Search Console, GA4). Keyword research, site audits, and Amazon tools work without connected accounts.

Yes. Each has its own URL. Add as many as you want. Growth plan key works for all.

Same URL, same key. Remove from old, add to new.

All connections use HTTPS. Your key authenticates requests but isn't stored by your AI assistant beyond your config. Ooty processes in real-time without permanently storing returned data.

Subscription stays active until end of billing period. Then connection stops working.

Troubleshooting

Tools not appearing?

Restart your AI assistant after adding or changing the MCP config. Most clients only read the config on startup.

Authentication error / 401?

Check your license key is correct. Copy a fresh one from your dashboard. Make sure there are no extra spaces and the "Bearer " prefix is included where required.

Connection refused?

Check your internet connection. If you're on a VPN or corporate network, ooty.io may need to be allowlisted.

Tools return errors?

Some tools need connected platform accounts (e.g. Google Search Console, YouTube). Go to Dashboard → Integrations to connect them.

Works in one assistant but not another?

Each AI assistant stores its MCP config separately. You need to add the URL and key to each one individually.

Don't have a license yet? Pick a plan and you'll be connected in under a minute.
